Job summary

DelDOT seeks a Principal Planner to provide state-level planning policy expertise. You will coordinate planning activities across state, regional, county and local levels and serve as primary liaison for local governments in one Delaware county.

Responsibilities include developing plans, evaluating options, and guiding implementation with communities and public officials, while supporting telework according to policy.

Qualifications

• Experience applying planning principles to land use and geospatial data.
• Ability to interpret laws, rules and regulations related to land use and geospatial data.
• Experience in planning project management from concept to evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data and its impact on programs and plans at the state level.
• Define and evaluate alternative resource uses and anticipated costs/benefits.
• Develop recommended actions for public/private decisions in plans and policies.
• Formulate plans to meet social, economic and physical needs of communities.
• Develop and market implementation strategies for plans and programs.
• Coordinate planning activities across state, regional, county and local levels.
