Job summary

Eagle Mountain City is seeking a General Planner to support long-range and current planning efforts. The role involves coordinating planning studies, reviewing development proposals, and assisting with policy development and ordinances.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in urban planning or a related field and at least four years of progressive planning experience, with strong GIS and communication skills to engage with developers and the public.

Qualifications

Graduation from college with a bachelor's degree in urban planning or a closely related field.
Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience performing above or related duties.
Working knowledge of community development, urban planning, and zoning concepts.
Familiarity with GIS mapping systems and site development regulations.

Responsibilities

Participates in planning projects related to policy development, land use, and housing.
Reviews development applications for conformity to city ordinances and coordinates reviews.
Assists in preparing staff reports, agendas, and other planning documents.
Conducts field inspections and presents findings to planning staff and commissions.
Communicates with applicants and the public regarding zoning and development issues.
