Job summary

Eagle Mountain City’s Planning Department seeks a General Planner to support long-range and current planning initiatives. You will coordinate with departments, developers, and the public to advance zoning, growth management, and land-use policies.

The role involves preparing staff reports, conducting planning studies, and presenting findings to the Planning Commission and City Council. A degree in urban planning and relevant experience are required for this professional position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in urban planning or closely related field.
• Four years of progressively responsible experience.
• Knowledge of GIS mapping systems and urban design principles.
• Ability to analyze planning policies and interpret codes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning projects related to policy development, land use, demographics, housing, and transportation.
• Review development applications for conformity to city ordinances and provide information to stakeholders.
• Prepare staff reports, agendas, and planning documents; assist in ordinance development.
• Coordinate with city departments and developers to ensure compliance with standards.
• Attend meetings and present findings to Planning Commission and City Council.
