Job summary

City of Eagle, Idaho, seeks a Planner II to perform professional land use planning, zoning, plan review, and inspections under the Planning and Zoning Administrator. The role requires analysis, staff reports, and interaction with officials, boards, and the public.

The Planner II operates with more autonomy than Planner I and conducts complex interpretation within City guidelines. Evening meetings and public presentations are required.

Qualifications

• College level coursework in planning or a related area.
• Four (4) years planning experience.
• Or any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the equivalent necessary for satisfactory job performance.
• Legally authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Confer with developers and the public on land use and design review proposals.
• Perform planning research and analysis to ensure code compliance.
• Address inquiries about planning procedures and regulations.
• Evaluate building and site construction plans and inspections.
• Prepare and present staff reports to City boards and Council.
• Attend night meetings and deliver oral presentations.
• Prepare findings of fact and conclusions of law documents.
• Draft land use documents, ordinances, and resolutions.
• Work in accordance with City policies and safety practices.
