Job summary

Altria is seeking a Senior Planner, Logistics to join our Operations Planning and Logistics team in King of Prussia, PA or Richmond, VA. You will plan and secure materials for manufacturing and third-party supply commitments, collaborating with partners across the supply chain.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in manufacturing operations with SAP proficiency, strong analytics, and excellent communication. The role offers a hybrid schedule with three in-person days and remote work on the other

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; a degree or certification focused in supply chain is a plus.
  • Three to five years of experience in manufacturing operations, material planning and logistics, purchasing, or a supply chain management environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and well-developed analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP required; experience building solutions with Microsoft Power Platform tools is a plus.
  • Effective communication skills that enable you to work with and influence a variety of internal and external partners.
  • Confidence to ask for help when you need it.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with supply chain partners — including Product Commercialization, Quality Assurance, Finance, RD&E, ALCS Procurement, and direct suppliers — to deliver cost-optimized supply chain plans through effective procurement practices and production schedules.
  • Plan and manage appropriate inventory levels based on budgetary commitments, customer requirements, space constraints, age limitations, and company-wide initiatives.
  • Independently analyze and execute material requirements planning (MRP) to secure materials needed for manufacturing and for sale to third parties. Create and manage purchase orders that optimize costs, promote supplier efficiency, and deliver materials on time to cigar manufacturing and to a third party in the Dominican Republic.
  • Coordinate shipping schedules, generate export documentation, issue invoices, and process credits for materials sold to third parties.
  • Proactively resolve supply chain issues across multiple functions, balancing customer expectations, supply chain capabilities, and regulatory and quality requirements.
  • Maintain master data in SAP and keep inventory accurate across systems by identifying and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to implement and report performance and 'know where you are' metrics for your area of responsibility.
  • Contribute to the effective execution of strategic supply chain and company-wide Game Plan initiatives.
  • Support internal compliance activities related to business continuity inventory practices, Sarbanes-Oxley controls, regulatory reporting, and Corporate Audit requirements.

The starting salary is based on but not limited to experience, knowledge, and qualifications in determining compensation decisions. The Salary Range for this position is: $91,500.00 - $132,750.00.
