Job summary

Arnold Law Firm in Sacramento, CA is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney in Labor & Employment to join our expanding team. The ideal candidate has plaintiff-side employment experience, strong research, writing, and analytical skills, and can manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, discovery responses, handling FEHA and Wage & Hour matters, advocating in court and mediations, and advising HR on policy compliance.

Qualifications

• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• Active California State Bar membership.
• 5 years of experience practicing employment law on the plaintiff side.
• Experience with FEHA, wage & hour, and class actions is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Stay current of federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Collaborate to develop FEHA and W&H cases, including class actions.
• Draft pleadings, complaints, discovery, motions, and court filings for State and Federal Courts.
• Conduct in-depth research on employment-law issues and present motions.
• Oversee mediation and court approval processes, including preliminary and final motions.
• Manage filing of pleadings and deadlines.
• Participate in mediations as second chair in class actions.
• Handle employment disputes including discrimination and wrongful termination.
• Collaborate with HR to develop employment policies and ensure compliance.
