Job summary

Swift is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer in Virginia to design, develop, and support PKI-enabled real-time messaging systems within a secure financial ecosystem. You will collaborate across teams to translate customer needs into robust, scalable solutions and mentor junior engineers in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates should have 5+ years in distributed development with C++, Java, Python, and Perl, plus PKI/LDAP/HSM experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related field.
5+ years of distributed, multi-threaded systems development using C++, Java, Python, and Perl.
Experience securing high-volume financial messages with PKI, LDAP and HSM tools.
Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, install, and support PKI and real-time messaging systems.
Support proposals with cost/benefit analyses across functional teams.
Collaborate with customers to understand needs and propose standard solutions.
Analyze input/output, hardware/software requirements and data flows.
Validate proposals and determine effective solutions.
Mentor junior team members and interact with vendors as needed.
Investigate production issues and coordinate with partners to resolve them.
Prepare systems documentation and operating procedures.
Lead design reviews and coordinate small project teams.
Evaluate technical feasibility and estimates for proposed solutions.
