Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in the Security Platform Engineering group to lead cryptographic infrastructure and PKI initiatives. You will drive architecture for highly available services, secure key material, and cross-functional collaboration with Security, Product, and Policy.

You will mentor a team of senior engineers, define multi-quarter technical strategies, and ensure robust, low-latency cryptographic solutions in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building highly available, distributed systems.
• Deep PKI and cryptography knowledge including certificate authorities, X.509 lifecycles, and key material protection.
• Experience leading technical strategy and architecture for large-scale projects with regulatory considerations.
• Experience operating in zero-trust environments and low-latency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and execution of cryptographic infrastructure.
• Define technical strategies with a multi-quarter horizon for cryptographic solutions.
• Own ambitious initiatives with secure protocols in zero-trust environments.
• Shape engineering quality practices and drive rigorous code reviews.
• Coordinate with Security, Product, and Policy for flawless execution.
