Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Security Platform Engineering group in the United States. You will lead cryptographic infrastructure and build high-availability services underpinning Coinbase systems.

You will drive architectural strategy, mentor senior engineers, and partner with Security, Product and Policy to deliver secure, low-latency solutions in a zero-trust environment. Strong PKI and Golang skills are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building highly available distributed systems.
• Expertise in PKI and cryptography with certificate authorities and X.509 lifecycle management.
• Proficient in Golang and at least one other language (Java, C++, or Rust).
• Experience with secure, low-latency, regulated infrastructure and zero-trust environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and execution of cryptographic infrastructure.
• Define technical strategies for cryptographic solutions over multiple quarters.
• Own ambitious initiatives, implement secure cryptographic protocols.
• Mentor engineers and enforce rigorous code reviews.
• Collaborate with Security, Product and Policy to drive execution.
