Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in the Security Platform Engineering group to lead cryptographic infrastructure initiatives and high-availability PKI systems.

You will drive secure, scalable architectures and mentor a team of senior engineers to deliver robust certificate management. You will partner with Security, Product, and Policy to align technical strategy with regulatory requirements, driving zero-trust concepts and trusted cryptographic protocols across Coinbase’s

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Deep PKI/cryptography expertise, with experience in certificate authorities, X.509 lifecycles, and HSMs/cloud KMS
• Proficient in systems languages (Golang, Java, C++, Rust)
• Experience with highly available, distributed systems
• Proven ability to lead technical strategy and architecture for large projects
• Experience operating in high-stakes, security-focused environments
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight
