Job summary

H+M Industrial EPC in Pasadena, TX is seeking a Senior Piping Designer to lead design efforts on heavy industrial projects. You will prepare drawings, direct other designers, and ensure compliance with client and code standards for piping systems.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of AutoCAD or Microstation experience, familiarity with CadWorx/PDS/AutoCAD 3D, and experience leading capital projects. This role requires on-site work in an office/manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of AutoCAD and/or Microstation experience in heavy industrial projects.
• Experience with CadWorx, PDS and AutoCAD 3D.
• Experience leading small to mid-capital projects.
• Thorough understanding and efficiency with standard design and drafting practices.
• Code and Plant Specific Standard knowledge/comprehension a must.
• Ability to check and back-check drawings produced by drafting personnel.

Responsibilities

• Provide directions for other designers in project specific tasks.

• Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, estimates, etc.
• Prepare and disseminate documentation records such as status reports, punch lists, sketches, and material calculations to supervisor.
• Interact with designers and engineers within the mechanical group and other disciplines to create multi-discipline design packages for construction forces.
• Work with clients to resolve problems.
• Adhere to H+M policies, Safety Manual and OSHA rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Core Job Responsibilities

• Provide directions for other designers in project specific tasks.
• Ensure design compliance with respective client/company specification and codes.

• Work within company policy as outlined in the H+M Employee Handbook as well as the H+M Safety Manual and OSHA Safety rules.

Essential Qualifications

Physical Requirements

• Occasionally lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds

Environment

Working conditions encountered in this job include those found in a typical office setting as well as an indoor/outdoor manufacturing setting which includes exposure to outside weather conditions, work at elevated heights, climbing of stairs and ladders, and physical manipulation of tools and mechanical equipment. This job demands the use of typical manufacturing personal protective equipment as well as advanced protective equipment as needed.
