Job summary

Jobtailor in Houston seeks an experienced Industrial Mechanical Piping Designer to support Lead Designer with drafting and piping, civil, and mechanical tasks. You will generate piping plans, plots, isometrics, equipment layouts, and P&IDs, and create 3-D CAD models using CADWorx Plant and Autodesk 3D. Collaboration and deliverable accuracy are essential.

The role emphasizes engineering support for processing plants and oil & gas projects, with onsite site observations as needed.

Qualifications

• 10–12 years of industrial mechanical piping design experience.
• Experience providing engineering support for processing plants, compressor stations, and oil and gas projects.
• Recent pipe design experience, ideally from a similar background.
• Working knowledge of CADWorx and/or Autodesk 3D.
• Working knowledge of ASME/API codes.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
• Ability to observe construction progress outdoors at project sites.

Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for one-third to two-thirds of the scheduled work shift
• Ability to stoop, kneel, walk up stairs, talk, and hear
• Ability to reach with hands and arms, work with hands and fingers, and periodically carry 5–15 pounds
• Ability to compare, analyze, communicate, copy, coordinate, compute, evaluate, and compile materials during the work shift
• Ability to observe construction progress outdoors over rough or uneven terrain
• Minimal travel required
