Job summary

Northern Natural Gas is seeking a Pipeline Technician to ensure the safe and efficient operation of pipeline systems in Midland, Texas. The successful candidate will perform maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

The ideal applicant will have an Associate's degree in a technical field and substantial experience related to gas transportation technologies. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, including a yearly performance-based bonus.

Qualifications

• Minimum four to six years of related work experience is ideal if education is not met.
• Valid driver's license is a must.
• Availability for emergency response and varying work schedules required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing scheduled preventative maintenance on operational equipment.
• Recognize abnormal operating conditions.
• Support emergency response and oversee third-party excavation.

Skills

Controls - Install, maintain and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers

Measurement - Operate and troubleshoot gas measurement equipment

Corrosion - Install and maintain corrosion protection equipment

Mechanical - Maintain and repair rotating and reciprocating equipment

Liquified Natural Gas Operations - Ensure reliable operation

Underground Storage Operations - Maintain gas storage processes

Compressor Station Operations - Ensure operation of compressor equipment

Pipeline - Perform pigging operations

Equipment Operation - Operate various heavy equipment

Welding - Qualified in API 1104 and ASME standards

Environmental - Maintain environmental standards

Education

Associate of Applied Science degree in technical specialization

Equivalent undergraduate degree with certification
