Job summary

Northern Natural Gas invites applications for a Pipeline Technician role, focusing on maintenance and operation of pipeline systems across multiple locations. You will engage in preventive maintenance, emergency response, and asset integrity tasks, with a emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications include an AAS in a technical field or an equivalent degree/certification, plus relevant experience. Travel, overtime, and on-call shifts may be required to support 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Preferred an AAS in aviation maintenance, diesel, natural gas, compression, instrumentation, controls, electrical, or corrosion.
• Bachelor or undergraduate equivalent with a relevant technical certification may substitute.
• Four to six years of related progressive work experience if education requirements are not met.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing scheduled preventative maintenance on operational equipment at the facility.
• Recognize abnormal operating conditions and support emergency response.
• Locate pipelines and oversee third-party excavation and line crossings; install and inspect markers.
• Operate power tools, hand tools, and specialized instruments used in pipeline operations and repair.
• Maintain and operate facilities in compliance with codes, safety, environmental standards, and procedures.
• Maintain required records per state, federal and company procedures.
• Review work assignments with the team to ensure safe work practices and reporting.
• Contribute to a team-centric environment and support CHAMPION culture.
