Job summary

Northern Natural Gas is looking for a Pipeline Technician to ensure the reliable operation of natural gas pipelines and facilities. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, and operating heavy machinery.

The ideal candidate should hold an Associate degree in a relevant technical field, have strong skills in gas measurement, maintenance, and safety compliance. This position comes with diverse tasks and opportunities for overtime.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and be available for emergency response.
• 4-6 years related work experience required without education.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on operational equipment.
• Support emergency response and operate work equipment.
• Maintain and operate facilities in compliance with safety standards.

Skills

Controls - Install, maintain and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers

Measurement - Program, maintain, operate and troubleshoot gas measurement equipment

Corrosion - Install and maintain corrosion protection equipment

Mechanical - Install and repair compression equipment

Liquified Natural Gas Operations

Underground Storage Operations

Compressor Station Operations

Pipeline - Perform pipeline maintenance

Equipment Operation - Operate various mobile heavy equipment

Welding - Qualified in API and AWS standards

Environmental - Maintain environmental standards

Education

Associate of Applied Science degree in relevant technical specialization

Comparable undergraduate degree with technical certification
