Job summary

Kinder Morgan in the Hamburg Operating Area seeks an Operations Manager to oversee daily natural gas pipeline operations, staff performance, safety, budgeting, and regulatory matters. The role covers a broad area including NY, PA, and related facilities.

We expect strategic planning, contractor oversight, and collaboration with regulators and customers. A senior candidate with 10+ years in pipeline ops and a valid driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree is preferred in Engineering or Business Management.
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in pipeline system operations, maintenance and/or engineering is highly desirable.
• A satisfactory driving record and a current, valid State driver’s license are required.

Responsibilities

• Manages all stations, pipelines, and personnel to ensure safe and efficient operations across a broad geographical area.
• Oversees outside contractors operating on company property or in Right-of-Way areas to protect company interests.
• Plan workload and staff assignments, review progress, adjust priorities for timely completion.
• Participates in staff selection/promotion, salary changes, and disciplinary actions; conducts evaluations.
• Coordinates training and operational programs for safety, emergency response, and new hire orientation.
• Develops short and long-range plans and budgets for area operation; coordinates with other departments and regulators.
• Ensures compliance with applicable regulations affecting pipeline operations.
