Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Fitter to join the Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) Maintenance team. The role involves layout, fit-up, fabrication, and installation of piping, tubing systems, and components on a 4x10 schedule from our ATR facility, with every Friday off.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, preparing materials, performing tests, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Applicants must meet DOE clearance and experience with exotic metals.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 5 years of relevant experience or recognized trade/apprenticeship
• Ability to obtain DOE L clearance (U.S. citizenship)
• Experience with exotic metals (stainless steel, Inconel, Hastelloy, etc.) and heat-treatment requirements
• Must complete training and maintain qualification and medical requirements

Responsibilities

• Perform fit-up, layout, fabrication of piping per drawings and specs
• Interpret blueprints, isometrics, P&IDs for material needs
• Fit, align, and prepare pipe spools, supports and hangers
• Perform pressure testing, inspections, and quality checks on piping systems
• Operate hand and power tools and perform basic maintenance tasks
• Maintain safety practices and participate in training and qualifications
