Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking an Experiment Engineer for the ATR Experiment Engineering team. The role supports irradiation of ATR experiments and ensures evolutions are conducted within safety requirements, reporting to the ATR Experiment Engineering manager.

The ideal candidate will have national laboratory engineering experience, nuclear safety expertise, and familiarity with ATR experiment processes. On-site work and a multi-level posting with DOE clearance expectations are included.

Qualifications

• Level 3 requires a Bachelor's in Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience or advanced degree with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Level 4 requires a Bachelor's in Engineering with 9 years of relevant experience, a Master's with 6 years, or a PhD with 4 years; ABET accreditation required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE 'L' clearance (U.S. Citizenship) is required.

Responsibilities

• Support irradiation of ATR experiments via collaboration with INL teams.
• Evaluate, design, modify, install, test, and provide system engineering support for ATR experiment systems.
• Develop experiment paperwork and ensure proper maintenance and configuration management of ATR systems.
• Perform experiment safety analysis to demonstrate compliance with nuclear safety requirements.
