Job summary

Gallo Mechanical, LLC in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Pipe Fitter to lay out, fabricate, install, and maintain piping systems for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, and processing applications. You will interpret blueprints, select pipes, and plan installation sequences.

The role is highly physical, requiring lifting up to 50 pounds, reading the Pipefitter’s Blue Book, and five years of experience or equivalent technical training.

Qualifications

• Interprets job specifications, plans and blueprints.
• Reads and utilizes Pipefitter’s Blue Book.
• Performs calculations using geometry and trigonometry.

Responsibilities

• Reads studies and interprets job specifications, plans and blueprints to gain understanding of work to be done.
• Selects type and size of pipe and related materials needed for each job.
• Inspects work site for obstructions and structural safety.
• Plans installation sequence to avoid obstructions.
• Cuts, grinds, threads and bends pipe per specifications.
• Assembles and installs metal and non-metal piping and fittings.
• Joins pipe and secures to structure with clamps and hangers.
• Tests piping system for leaks by pressure tests.
