Job summary

Gallo Mechanical in Baton Rouge, LA seeks an experienced Pipe Fitter to lay out, fabricate, install and maintain piping systems for industrial applications. You will read blueprints, select materials, assemble and secure pipe, and test systems for leaks in demanding environments.

The role requires 5 years of pipe fitting experience in commercial plumbing or equivalent, a high school diploma or technical training, and the ability to work in varied conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Technical School acceptable.
• Proven ability to read and interpret plans and blueprints.
• Basic math including geometry and trigonometry used for pipe measurements.

Responsibilities

• Reads studies and blueprints to understand work.
• Selects pipe type and size for each job.
• Inspects site for obstructions and safety considerations.
• Plans sequence of installation to avoid conflicts with others.
• Cuts, grinds, threads and bends pipe per specs.
• Assembles and installs metal and non-metal piping and fittings.
• Joins and secures piping to structures with clamps and hangers.
• Tests piping systems for leaks at various pressures.
