McCormack Schreiber Legal Search is seeking a Senior Personal Injury / Medical Malpractice Attorney to join its Chicago office. The firm handles sophisticated plaintiffs’ personal injury matters, including complex medical malpractice, catastrophic injury, and related high-stakes cases, offering substantial responsibility in complex litigation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of litigation experience, including medical malpractice or complex plaintiffs’ personal injury cases.
• Experience handling significant, complex cases rather than high-volume matters.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Interest in developing business and client relationships.
• Sophisticated medical malpractice defense experience considered for transition to plaintiffs’ side.
• Commercial litigation experience considered if transitioning to plaintiffs’ work.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex plaintiffs’ personal injury and medical malpractice matters from inception through resolution.
• Develop case strategy and analyze complex factual and legal issues.
• Conduct depositions, witness interviews, and factual investigations.
• Manage discovery and other aspects of complex litigation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation-related documents.
• Participate in court appearances, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, trials, and settlement negotiations.
• Work collaboratively with other attorneys and firm professionals on significant matters.
• Develop and maintain client and referral relationships.
• Identify and develop potential business opportunities.
