Job summary

Orionplacement, Chicago-based litigation firm, seeks an attorney with substantial experience in medical malpractice defense to join our on-site team. You will handle complex defense matters, review medical records, draft pleadings, and develop case strategies with senior attorneys.

Candidates must be licensed in Illinois, have strong research and writing skills, and be able to manage deadlines and billing while delivering excellent client service.

Responsibilities

• Handle and support medical malpractice defense and related litigation.
• Review medical records, pleadings, discovery materials, and other case documents.
• Prepare motions, pleadings, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Assist with discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Evaluate case facts, medical records, liability issues, damages, and potential exposure.
• Develop case strategies in collaboration with experienced attorneys.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and medical professionals.
• Maintain organized case files and manage deadlines and priorities.
• Accurately record time and maintain billing documentation.
• Contribute to a collaborative team focused on strong advocacy and client service.

Pay:

$95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year

Note:

Must be admitted to practice law in Illinois and have experience with medical malpractice defense or medical record review. Direct medical malpractice defense experience is preferred, while candidates with relevant medical record review experience will also be considered.
