Job summary

Roots Community Health seeks a Lead Physician, Clinical Practice & Academic Partnerships to drive governance, establish gold-standard models, and lead high-level academic and health system partnerships across Roots sites.

Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the role oversees faculty practice, education for residents and students, and enterprise-wide clinical stewardship, with location flexibility between San Jose and Oakland.

Qualifications

• Active California medical license (MD or DO) in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical School (MD/DO).
• 5–7 years of clinical practice in primary care or community health settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical governance and establish practice standards across Roots sites.
• Direct academic partnerships with medical centers and residency programs.
• Oversee Faculty Practice and precepting for residents and students.
• Drive EHR templating and workflow improvements enterprise-wide.
• Align clinical education strategies with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
