Job summary

Carbon Health is seeking a District Medical Director to oversee four clinics in the San Jose market, combining clinical leadership with operational oversight. You’ll practice medicine ~20 hours per week while guiding quality of care, clinician development, patient experience, and financial results.

You’ll lead a team of interdisciplinary clinicians, mentor providers, and collaborate with operations, with national leadership mentoring to support your growth.

Qualifications

• MD/DO license required, unrestricted
• 3+ years clinical experience in urgent care or emergency medicine
• 1+ year leadership as medical director or similar role
• Experience with budgets, staffing, metrics or schedules would be beneficial

Responsibilities

• Set and uphold quality and safety standards across your market.
• Deliver urgent/primary care ~20 hrs/week while leading operations.
• Recruit, coach, and develop providers in your market; mentor APC clinicians.
• Own day-to-day clinical operations: patient flow, staffing, access, and experience.
• Partner on P&L and build financial fluency with support from leadership.
• Grow market through partnerships with occupational health and surrounding practices
