Job summary

UCI Health in Irvine, CA seeks a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to support patient care in an acute rehab setting. You will work under a Physical Therapist to initiate and perform treatments, educate patients, maintain progress notes, and ensure proper equipment sanitation.

The role requires an active PTA license, at least 1 year in acute rehab, and strong English communication and customer service skills to collaborate across the care team.

Qualifications

• Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• Must possess current valid Physical Therapy Assistant License.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Minimum 1 year experience working in an acute rehab setting as a physical therapy assistant.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Physical Therapist, independently initiate and perform patient treatments using various procedures, modalities and instructions.
• Will perform related patient care activities such as removing and reapplying dressings, providing transportation, providing patient education, completing daily progress notes, and ensuring accurate charge entry.
• Prepares schedules for patients' treatment and cleans and disinfects equipment as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
