Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin’s Applied Research Laboratories seeks a Physical Security Specialist (Special Programs) at the Pickle Research Campus to oversee ICD 705 facilities and related security requirements.

You will serve as Site Security Manager for ICD-705 facilities, directing design, construction, and refurbishment activities while coordinating accreditations and lifecycle documentation to ensure government approvals are obtained and maintained.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Five years of demonstrated relevant experience in security, engineering, business management or similar field.
• Knowledge of physical security governing guidelines such as ICD-705 and Tech Specs, and DODM 5205.07, Vol 3 SAP Physical Security.
• Ability to work and communicate with all clients, both internal and external from a wide variety of backgrounds and technical disciplines.
• Familiarity with sensitive facility accreditation processes.
• Ability to work independently with sensitive and classified information.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision, to self-initiate activities and work within timelines.
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of the design, construction and refurbishing of ICD 705 facilities. Serve as a Site Security Manager (SSM) for ICD-705 facilities, including assisting with facility accreditations (CSP, FFCs, TEMPEST) to obtain and maintain government approvals for SCIFs/SAPFs.
• Review architectural drawings to ensure security compliance and coordinate with government representatives; develop sketches and construction guidelines to meet ICD 705 standards.
• Coordinate co-use and joint use agreements for efficient and contractually compliant use of ICD-705 facilities. Implement TEMPEST standards as mandated for SPS facilities.
