Job summary

Riot Platforms is seeking a senior Physical Security Engineer III to own the architecture and lifecycle of Riot's physical security program, focusing on Genetec and integrations across sites. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic direction and audit readiness.

You will mentor engineers, lead multi-site implementations, and collaborate with IT and security leadership while ensuring compliance and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience required.
• 8+ years installing operating and maintaining physical security systems.
• Experience operating under SOC-2 controls and providing audit evidence.
• Strong network and server knowledge.
• Experience leading multi-site projects and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end technical architecture for Riot's physical security systems across sites.
• Lead design, implementation, and support for complex Physical Security System projects.
• Act as SME for the Genetec system and escalation point for issues.
• Lead video surveillance, access control, sensors, and integrations for sites.
• Build API-level integrations between security platforms and business systems.
• Lead site commissioning and ensure proper documentation and sign-off.
• Maintain operational standards and training for the physical security team.
• Represent team in audit/compliance inquiries (SOC 2).
• Mentor Physical Security Engineer I and II staff.
• Manage vendor relationships, licensing strategy, and escalation paths.
• Identify operational and security risks and escalate as needed.
• Coordinate with Network/Security/IT leadership for alignment.
• Evaluate new physical security technologies for strategic investments.
