Job summary

Qualifications

• Six+ years in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities such as data centers or related sites.
• Five+ years leading physical security design programs including construction drawings and specifications.
• Five+ years developing and reviewing design documentation for construction and permitting.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Security Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience directing external design consultants and ensuring adherence to standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end security design process including drawings, specs, and standards for physical security systems across multiple data centers.
• Develop and improve AWS physical security design standards and Template specs reflecting best practices.
• Lead cross-functional design reviews and coordinate with Civil, Architectural, Electrical, and ICT disciplines.
• Identify and resolve design risks and architectural deficiencies across teams and regions.
• Evaluate new technologies and security measures for applicability and ROI.
• Serve as primary technical contact for security design consultants and review deliverables.
• Collaborate with AWS Security to align design outputs with operations and compliance.
• Develop scope of work for RFPs and provide input during vendor selection.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive engineering best practices.
• Conduct site assessments, construction reviews, and design coordination meetings; travel ≤ 25%.
