Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Manager of Physical Security Engineering to lead a team of engineers across Leased/Owned data center projects in the AMER region.

You will direct security design efforts, set technical standards, and coordinate with AWS Security, Real Estate, and external consultants to deliver safe, resilient facilities. You will manage a high‑performing team, ensure design quality, and drive program improvements across CPTED, HVM, PIDS, and access control architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
• 12+ years in physical security design (cameras, access, intrusion, perimeters).
• 5+ years leading engineering teams and talent development.
• 3+ years in data center or mission-critical facilities design.
• Proven experience managing external consultants and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Direct the team’s engagement across the project lifecycle for AWS-owned/leased commercial data centers in the AMER region.
• Set technical direction and QA/QC standards for security designs and specifications.
• Oversee pre-design strategy, due diligence, and risk assessment inputs.
• Lead senior stakeholder engagement, escalation management, and cross‑discipline coordination.
• Drive vendor management, procurement oversight, and performance reviews.
• Travel for site assessments and design coordination as needed (up to 25–30%).
