Job summary

Meta’s LTD team seeks a Network Production Engineer focused on physical infrastructure for backbone POPs and ILA huts. You will own Inside Plant and Outside Plant design, translate topology into rack layouts, power needs, and fiber plans, and drive scalable, standards-based deployments.

Responsibilities include BOM creation, cross-functional reviews, and collaboration with vendors to evolve network topologies. Strong documentation and design automation support are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years designing physical infrastructure / fiber-optic infrastructure (OSP/ISP) in telecom, backbone/transport, carrier or hyperscale environments.
• Ability to turn network/optical designs into physical builds—rack elevations, power, fiber counts, ODF/patch-panel layouts, cable trays.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, engineer and implement scalable physical infrastructure for backbone POPs and ILA sites.
• Translate IP/optical topology into physical designs—rack layouts, space & power requirements, fiber counts, splice plans, patch schedules.
• Own high-level site design standards and refresh them as topology evolves.
• Produce material forecast and BOMs for manufacturers.
• Engage with vendors (e.g., Amphenol, CommScope, Prysmian, Corning) and ILA shelter manufacturers on components and supply.
• Produce engineering documentation and present designs in cross-functional reviews.
• Support design-automation/tooling for BOMs and fiber-plant modeling.
• Support site sourcing strategy guidance on provider facilities and floor plans.
• Review low-level site design migration plans to aid delivery teams.
