Job summary

Meta is seeking a Network Engineer to own Inside Plant and Outside Plant design for Backbone POPs and ILA huts, translating topology into scalable physical infrastructure, including racks, power, fiber, and cable management, in Raleigh, NC.

You will collaborate with network engineering and sourcing teams to produce BOMs, establish design standards, and engage with vendors while contributing to design-automation efforts and maintaining thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• 6+ years designing physical infrastructure for telecom backbone in hyperscale environments.
• Strong fiber fundamentals including single/multimode, LC/MPO connectors, splice plans, and OTDR testing.
• Ability to translate network topology into physical build details like rack elevations and cable trays.
• Experience creating clear technical documentation and cross-functional alignment.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable physical infrastructure for backbone POPs and ILA huts.
• Collaborate with network engineering and sourcing to derive space, power, and fiber requirements.
• Produce BOMs and material forecasts for manufacturers.
• Define site design standards and refreshes as topology evolves.
