Job summary

Skorpios Technologies, Inc. in Temecula, CA seeks a Sr. Simulation Engineer focused on optical and photonics modeling.

You will drive high‑fidelity simulations of lasers, modulators, and passive components for an integrated silicon photonics platform, working with an in‑house foundry to bridge theory and hardware. Lead device modeling across III‑V and silicon photonics, optimize RF and thermal performance, and collaborate with Fab/Device Designers to ensure tapeout readiness.

Qualifications

• Advanced modeling of photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and devices.
• Experience leading virtual prototyping from concept to in-house manufacturing.
• Proven ability to optimize devices across III-V and silicon photonics platforms.

Responsibilities

• Model III-V and Silicon Photonics components (DFB/DBR lasers, SOAs, modulators, photodiodes).
• Lead multi-physics simulations coupling optical, electrical, and thermal solvers.
• Collaborate with in-house Fab and Device Designers to translate simulations into layouts.
• Perform DRC/LVS checks to ensure tapeout readiness.
• Execute virtual DOE studies to predict reliability and refine material parameters.
