Job summary

PsiQuantum seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to design complex optomechanical and optoelectronic packages for the Optical Circuit Switch (OCS) program. You will collaborate with photonics, packaging, process, test, quality, and supply chain teams to translate architecture into manufacturable designs.

Roles require expertise in GD&T, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturability, with ownership from prototype through production readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in optomechanical design or related packaging roles.
• Strong knowledge of mechanics of materials, thermodynamics, and precision design.

Responsibilities

• Own OCS package and subassembly designs from prototype to production readiness.
• Generate and maintain BOMs, drawings, and configuration-controlled documentation.
• Perform DFMEA, PFMEA, and risk analysis for package development.
• Design fixtures, test setups, and metrology tooling for alignment and assembly.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure manufacturability.
