Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Edina, MN is seeking a Sr. Phlebotomy Technician to work Monday–Friday with hours ranging 6:45 AM–8:30 PM and rotational weekends. Travel is required for this position.

You will perform venous and capillary blood collection, POCT, and related duties while supporting the supervisor to ensure safe, accurate patient care. The role includes scheduling, supplies management, and adherence to clinic standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of progressive, accomplished experience in POC and phlebotomy preferred.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in certain states.

Responsibilities

• Prepares staff schedule to provide adequate coverage and updates changes daily.
• Ensures equitable distribution of workload.
• Troubleshoots and resolves issues with technicians, clinic staff etc. as needed in conjunction with the Supervisor.
• Monitors to ensure work is being performed efficiently.
• Establishes onboarding program for new employees in conjunction with the Supervisor.
• Performs phlebotomy and POC testing as needed.
• Maintains drawing and POC testing carts/trays with supplies.
• Maintains all necessary supplies and places orders in a timely fashion.
• Distributes and processes specimens and requisitions according to unit assignments.
• Communicates with patients and caregivers at their level to meet age, culture, and literacy needs.
• Adheres to clinic standards and organizational competencies.
