Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Washington state is seeking a Phlebotomist to support diagnostic specimen collection and processing for patient care. You will collect venous and capillary samples, label accurately, and ensure specimen integrity while coordinating with the lab team.

Responsibilities include assisting clinicians, mentoring new staff, and maintaining accurate records within the laboratory information system. Weekend and holiday coverage may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of phlebotomy practicum or equivalent training.
• 3 years of recent phlebotomy experience in a multi-patient lab setting is preferred.
• Washington state MA Phlebotomist certificate within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform order entry, specimen collection, labeling and processing according to WI.
• Prioritize workload and coordinate phlebotomy team activities to meet service needs.
• Provide instructions to clinicians and patients on specimen collection and handling.
• Enter patient demographics and specimen data into the lab system; track and print reports.
• Assist with bone marrow collection and processing as ordered by clinicians.
• Maintain current knowledge of WI, policies and safety requirements; participate in meetings and quality controls.
