Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Senior Phlebotomist for a Marysville, WA location. The role involves venipuncture, specimen handling, and performing waived and moderate testing including microscopy and EKGs. The team emphasizes accuracy, patient care, and adherence to lab procedures.

The position requires WA-state phlebotomy credentials, BLS, and 1+ year of experience with strong communication. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with potential schedule changes based on needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• WA state Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist certification required.
• Completion of a Phlebotomy certificate program.
• BLS (AHA) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• 1+ year of experience with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• 1+ year of computer proficiency (Microsoft Office).
• Ability to work a 40-hour week (Mon–Fri, 8:30am–5:30pm).

Responsibilities

• Venipuncture and specimen collection.
• Perform waived and moderate testing including microscopy.
• Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs).
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and proper specimen handling.
• Process and prepare specimens for testing and transport.
• Troubleshoot issues related to specimen collection and equipment.
• Provide patient collection instructions and post-phlebotomy care.
• Follow lab procedures, policies, and HIPAA/privacy guidelines.
