Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a Phlebotomist Technologist to perform phlebotomy duties, identify patients, and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. The role will mentor and lead lower level phlebotomists while ensuring compassionate patient care and adherence to safety protocols.

The position requires flexibility to work between 7:00am-6:00pm and may involve travel to different clinics as needed. A valid Texas driver’s license is preferred, with CPT certification being a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Identify patient, draw blood, label specimens and send to lab.
• Maintain records of tests performed and samples taken.
• Generate patient collection lists and labels; verify correct tests.
• Process specimens including centrifugation, aliquoting, and labeling.
• Inventory supplies and requisitions; stock workstation.
• Provide customer service to patients and providers.
• Provide in-service training and precept Phlebotomists.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
