Job description

The Phlebotomist II is responsible for the accurate and timely pre-analytical functions, including patient identification, blood and body fluid specimen collection, and specimen labeling. The phlebotomist provides support to multiple regional laboratory personnel and is crucial in maintaining the integrity of patient specimens to ensure accurate and timely patient care.

Required Qualifications :

• Successful completion of a nationally accredited phlebotomy or medical assistant training program.
• At least 1 year of phlebotomy-related experience with Certification/Registry (PBT) from a recognized organization such as ASCP or NCA, OR
• 3 years of phlebotomy-related experience. Certification or Registry (PBT) from a recognized organization is preferred.

Note : Industry-related experience must be from a high-volume, acute care laboratory performing high-complexity testing. Registrar experience is preferred.

• Experience with State, Federal, and other regulatory compliance regulations, including Medicare Secondary Payor (MSP), EMTALA, ABN, and HIPAA.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Certification or Registry (PBT) from a recognized organization upon hire.
