Job summary

Providence in Eureka, CA is seeking a Senior Philanthropy Officer to identify, evaluate, cultivate, and solicit principal gift donors, actively supporting fundraising initiatives for St. Joseph Eureka and Redwood Memorial hospitals.

The role partners with the Chief Philanthropy Officer to craft proposals, manage donor portfolios, and drive strategy, ensuring donor retention and upgrades through targeted cultivation events and initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 5 years Philanthropy experience.
• 5 years Fundraising through employee campaigns, grants, annual giving, special events and major gifts.
• Experience with personal computers.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, cultivate, and solicit current and prospective principal gift donors; manage assigned donors to retain and upgrade giving.
• Collaborate with Chief Philanthropy Officer to create proposals and asks aligned with hospital priorities.
• Participate in budget preparation, program evaluation and strategic planning.

Job description

The Senior Philanthropy Officer is responsible for identifying, evaluating, cultivating, and soliciting current and prospective principal gift donors and is an active participant in making strategic plans to strengthen the organization's fundraising capacity. In partnership with the Chief Philanthropy Officer is expected to perform at a senior level, which includes working with key team members of the organization to create proposals and asks based on the priorities of St. Joseph Eureka and Redwood Memorial hospitals and having advanced knowledge of the organizations strategic initiatives to propose initiatives and cultivation events. Key responsibilities include actively participating in budget preparation, program evaluation and strategic planning and will manage a group of assigned donors to ensure they are retained as donors and upgraded in their giving and involvement.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree

• Planning, coordinating and supervising meetings, volunteer boards and committees.
