Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy, adhering to state and federal policies and Walgreens procedures.
• Support pharmacy operations, including accessing patient and drug records, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and dispensing medications, verifying accuracy, and checking for drug interactions.
• Handle pharmacy cash register operations, including registering all related income, collecting cash, and managing OTC transactions where appropriate.
• Resolve customer inquiries and complaints to ensure a positive purchase experience, employing Walgreens customer service practices such as proactive assistance and courtesy.
• Co‑train pharmacy technicians and cashiers on proper use of pharmacy equipment and procedures to drive performance.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments, and documenting claims for overages, shortages, or damaged goods.
• Assist the pharmacist with scheduling and managing outpatient medication preparation, including collecting and labeling blood/urine samples when required.
• Support pharmacy supervisors by providing data and analysis to improve pharmacy financial, customer service, and inventory performance.
• Engage with the local medical network—physicians, nurses, and other health care providers—to strengthen business relationships through outreach and education.
