Job summary

Walgreens Co. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist the Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in dispensing prescriptions, performing clerical duties, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Under pharmacist supervision, you will help with inventory, cash handling, and customer assistance to ensure safe, efficient service. You will need a PTCB or ExCPT certification (where required), at least one year of tech experience, and strong English skills.

Qualifications

• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico).
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy, Health System Pharmacy locations, or in locations where this role is covered under a collective bargaining agreement)
• Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer basic math skills (counting, measuring and weighing medications).
• Prefer basic level PC skills (start up/shut down computer, mouse usage, switching programs, saving/printing, online access).
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control

Responsibilities

• Assist in pharmacy operations under pharmacist supervision.
• Enter patient and drug information into pharmacy systems.
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring medications.
• Support Pharmacy Manager in scheduling and workflow.
• Lead inventory management activities and handle warehouse issues (overages/shortages/damages).
• Collaborate with pharmacists, physicians and health providers as needed.
• Assist with clinical services and coordination of Walgreens healthcare clinics.
