Job summary

Walgreens Co. seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in dispensing prescriptions, processing claims, and maintaining patient records at our Jasper, AL store. You will assist customers, manage inventory, and help ensure efficient, accurate pharmacy operations.

Qualifications include PTCB or ExCPT certification, one year of retail or hospital experience, fluency in English, and willingness to work evenings or weekends. Immunization certification may be required within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico).
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy, Health System Pharmacy locations, or in locations where this role is covered under a collective bargaining agreement)

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in dispensing prescriptions under supervision and entering patient and drug information.
• Maintain pharmacy systems, process manual/third-party claims timely and accurately.
• Assist in scheduling and workflow management for the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager.
• Lead inventory management: ordering, unpacking, checking, storing pharmaceuticals, and handling shortages or overages.
• Register sales on the cash register and assist customers to OTC aisles; handle cash as required.
• Answer telephone calls not requiring pharmacist attention and coordinate with physicians as needed.
• Support Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in analyzing Rx KPIs and pharmacy financial performance.
• Assist with clinical services and coordination of Walgreens healthcare clinics and external providers.
