Description

The Acute Care Pharmacy Tech III performs duties related to filling and dispensing unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to nursing units and other departments in a prompt and accurate manner. Responsibilities include filling/dispensing oral and IV medications, triaging patient orders, and maintaining the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS). The technician should have advanced knowledge and skills in two or more pharmacy specialty areas.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• H.S. Diploma or GED
• Oregon Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician, or Oregon Pharmacy Technician License upon hire
• Minimum of 2 years (>4160 hours) pharmacy practice in an integrated health system with PTCB certification OR 3 years (>6240 hours) hospital pharmacy experience without PTCB certification
• Experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program
• Advanced PTCB certificate (e.g., sterile compounding, medication history, controlled substances)
• Specialty certification (e.g., sterile compounding, etc.) where applicable by role and state
