Central Florida Health Care, Inc. seeks a Senior Pharmacy Technician to support Pharmacists in daily operations and ensure compliance with policies and regulations. You will assist with inventory, claims processing, labeling, and customer service in a fast-paced pharmacy setting.

The role emphasizes leadership, accuracy in cash handling, and adherence to HIPAA. A Florida license, board registration, and 2+ years of pharmacy experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Education or credentials required or preferred for Pharmacy Technicians.
• Florida Board of Pharmacy Registration is required.

Responsibilities

• Be familiar with CFHC’s program philosophies, goals, and objectives. Be cognizant of and comply with all CFHC’s policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
• Understand the requirements of CFHC’s Exposure Control Plan and assure compliance by support staff.
• Adheres to CFHC quality policies and participates in quality improvement activities.
• Follows safety and OSHA requirements.
• Oversee accuracy of tills, assist with daily deposits, and register related sales.
• Handle calls not requiring pharmacist attention and assist physicians as needed.
• Process and resubmit manual third party claims promptly; assist audits.
• Lead and manage pharmacy department inventory, orders, and deliveries.
• Assist pharmacists in analyzing and improving finance, service, inventory, and metrics.
• Engage with CFHC and referral/providers to maintain positive relationships.
• Mix medications, label bottles, receive and store supplies.
• File invoices and prescriptions; ensure a neat, stocked environment.
• Assist training of new team members and support workflow efficiency.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve patient inquiries.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position supports Pharmacist(s) in a pharmacy in the overall day to day direction of pharmacy operations.

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Program or High School Diploma/GED and Certificate from an employer sponsored Pharmacy program.
• Florida Board of Pharmacy Registration
• Active Pharmacy Technician Licensure (National) preferred
• Active BLS
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a pharmacy
• Computer literacy; basic understanding of Microsoft Suite
• Strong leadership skills
• Understanding of use of pharmacy equipment

RESPONSIBILTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

• Understand the requirements of CFHC’s Exposure Control Plan. Assure compliance with this plan by support staff assigned to assist you.
• Adheres to CFHC quality policies and participates actively in quality improvement process activities.
• Follows safety and OSHA requirements.
• Responsible and accountable for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collects and handles cash as required. Oversee accuracy of all tills and assist team members with reconciling discrepancies in the daily deposit.
• Handles telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians.
• Processes (corrects and resubmits) manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and performs other clerical duties, as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager. Assist with third party audits and inspections as required by regulatory bodies and contracted partners.
• Leads Pharmacy Department inventory management activities, such as, ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals. Addresses warehouse overages (merchandise received, but not billed), shortages (merchandise billed, but not received), order errors or damaged goods involving prescription drugs.
• Assists and supports Pharmacists in analyzing and seeking to improve pharmacy finance, customer service, inventory, and performance metrics.
• Working with CFHC and referral providers and clinical staff to establish and maintain positive relationships.
• Mix pharmaceutical preparations, fill bottles with prescribed tablets, and type labels for bottles.
• Receives and stores incoming supplies.
• Files invoices and hard copy prescriptions.
• Assists with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat and orderly in condition and appearance
• Facilitate day to day pharmacy operations and guide pharmacy technicians in ensuring efficiency in workflow.
• Assist with training new team members
• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience. Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPPA guidelines.
• Ability to analyze excel reports
• Report as needed to supervising personnel any pertinent information or situations that impact on patient care or CFHC liability.
• Attend and participate in mandatory CFHC meetings (Center Specific quarterly meetings, Corporate meetings, and other meetings).
• Enhances professional growth and development by attending in-service meetings and continuing education programs.
• Maintain neat and professional appearance at all times.
• Carry out any other activities deemed appropriate by the supervising staff.
