Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a Pharmacy Technician III on the Medication Access Team to assist patients in obtaining timely access to prescribed therapies. You will handle prior authorizations, communicate with insurers and clinicians, and document activities in EMR and pharmacy systems.

The ideal candidate has experience in prior authorizations or medication access services, strong communication, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
• Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician Registration.
• One year of pharmacy-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Participates in advanced financial transaction and audit activities.
• Completes routine benefit investigation for high cost and complex medications.
• Performs audits of narcotic utilization, inventory control, and cost accounting or billing for specialized areas.
• Engages in advanced customer service activities.
• Investigates and resolves medication issues or requests, and communicates with patients or health care providers.
