Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician III to join our retail pharmacy team. Under the general supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, you will assist the pharmacist in preparing medications, distribute to patient bedside via Med-2-Bed, and handle computer order entry, records, and billing.

You will maintain inventory, perform duties in multiple areas, and support varied pharmacy locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential required.
• California State Board of Pharmacy license required.
• Minimum of five years of retail pharmacy experience.
• Experience in project management/system responsibility (e.g. Pyxis, narcotic control, QI) or is a Pharmacy School graduate or has an expanded responsibilities background.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in preparation of medications for patient use according to procedures.
• Facilitate distribution of medications including bedside delivery (Med-2-Bed).
• Perform computer order entry, record keeping, and billing functions.
• Maintain inventory levels and support pharmacy operations across areas.
• Assist pharmacists with medication orders and related distribution duties in different areas.

Skills

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).

Pharmacy Technician License issued by

Minimum of Five (5) years of retail

Experience in project management

Education

Pharmacy Intern License.

Pharmacy School graduate.
