Job summary

Sutter Health in San Francisco is seeking a Pharmacy Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, staff scheduling, performance assessments, and staff development. The role acts as a liaison with nursing, medical staff and other departments to coordinate pharmacy operations and ensure compliant, high quality services.

You will lead formulary management, drug usage evaluation, budgeting, and strategic planning, while directing daily pharmacist workflow and promoting clinical pharmacy services.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Pharmacy from an accredited school.
• Registered Pharmacist (PHARMR) and Pharmacist licensure (PHARMD).
• 8 years of recent relevant experience.
• Strong leadership and interdepartmental collaboration.
• In-depth knowledge of California pharmacy law and Joint Commission standards.

Responsibilities

• Manages all aspects of daily department activities to ensure quality services in line with hospital policies and regulations.
• Evaluates workload and adjusts staffing to maintain productive, cost effective service.
• Oversees monthly schedule, approves adjustments and maintains attendance records.
• Acts as liaison with nursing, medical staff and other departments to coordinate operations.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and accreditation across the facility.
• Coordinates formulary changes and ensures compliance by pharmacy staff.
• Directs daily workflow and performs pharmacist duties as needed.
• Promotes involvement of staff pharmacists in clinical services and patient education.
