University of Michigan is seeking a Financial or Business Analyst Senior/Intermediate to support the Pharmacy Department within the Financial Services team. You will develop processes, maintain financial reporting, and implement controls across inpatient and research pharmacy activities.

The role requires strong communication skills and experience in finance, with responsibility for budgeting, variance analysis, and monthly close tasks in a university health system environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in finance, accounting, audit, or compliance (intermediate).
• Senior level: 5–8 years in finance, accounting, audit, or compliance.
• Experience analyzing data to identify issues and drive improvement.

Responsibilities

• Monthly variance analysis of budget to actual results.
• Month-End journal entry responsibilities and reporting.
• Create annual budgets for Inpatient Pharmacy and Research Pharmacy.
• Develop and maintain reports, graphs, and ad hoc analyses.
• Interact with department leads to develop processes and controls.
• Create workflows ensuring proper financial controls and monitoring.
• Prepare routine and ad hoc drug-level purchase analyses.
• Provide backup support for other financial analysts.
