Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking an experienced finance professional to support the Pharmacy Department within the Financial Services framework. The role reports to the Finance Manager and focuses on building processes, maintaining financial reporting, and ensuring controls around a growing Pharmacy and Finance landscape.

The position involves monthly variance analysis, budget creation for Inpatient and Research Pharmacy areas, and collaboration across CDAs and department leads to implement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in finance, accounting, audit, and/or compliance, preferably in a University or Health Care environment.
• 5–8 years of experience in finance, accounting, audit, and/or compliance, preferably in a University or Health Care environment.
• Experience with spreadsheet applications and analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.

Responsibilities

• Monthly variance analysis of budget to actual financial results.
• Month-End Journal entry responsibilities.
• Update and create monthly financial reports, including graphs, charts, and other ad hoc reports etc.
• Create annual budget for Inpatient Pharmacy areas and Research Pharmacy.
• Monitor activity in the Inpatient drug area, develop and maintain reports as needed.
• Interact with CDAs, Segment Leadership, or designated department leads to develop processes and stay up to date on patient population and new drugs on the horizon.
• Create workflows tailored to each Inpatient and/or administrative area providing appropriate controls to monitor financial activity and mitigate losses.
• Communicate activity and financial statuses to appropriate areas throughout Michigan Medicine & Pharmacy Leadership.
• Scheduled and ad hoc reports for drug level analysis of medication purchases.
• Create purchase orders when appropriate.
• Recharge Rate analysis for the Research Pharmacy Team.
• Backup support for other Financial Analysts in the department that support various Pharmacy areas.
• Other analysis and duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.
