Job summary

University of California, Irvine seeks a pharmacist to provide high-quality pharmaceutical care for a diverse patient population within a hospital setting. You will dispense medications, share current clinical information with staff and physicians, and continually evaluate therapies following hospital dosing protocols.

The role reports to the Director of Pharmacy and requires California pharmacist licensure, strong communication skills, and the ability to work at a pace appropriate to workload

Qualifications

• Knowledge of pharmacologic principles applied to patient care.
• Good communication and experience with computerized pharmacy systems.
• Current Pharmacist Licensure from the California State Board of Pharmacy.
• Must complete hospital mandatory education requirements (Orientation, EOC, OSHA, Infection Control, Abuse/Neglect, Ethics) and vaccines.
• Ability to maintain a work pace and establish effective relations within the Health System.

Responsibilities

• Dispense medications for hospital patients and provide up-to-date clinical information to staff, physicians and patients.
• Continuously assess and evaluate drug therapies and follow hospital dosing protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff and patients to optimize therapy.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy.
